Facebook, everyone is very well aware of the social networking giant. The mode connected thousands of people online and to such an extent that it now has a largest chain. The lives have been completely changed. The giant has taken over to its update and behind all this, stands one man – Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook. He is one of the World’s youngest billionaire. Mark Zuckerberg co-founded the social-networking website Facebook out of his college dorm room and then there was no looking back. Zuckerberg had taken Facebook a level ahead.
Here is the Inspiring story.
Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born in White Plains, New York, into a comfortable, well-educated family, and raised in the nearby village of Dobbs Ferry. His father ran a dental practice attached to the family’s home. His mother worked as a psychiatrist.
Interest in Computers
Zuckerberg developed an interest in computers at an early age. He used Atari BASIC to create a messaging program he named “Zucknet.” His father used the program in his dental office, so that the receptionist could inform him of a new patient without yelling across the room.
Mark Zuckerberg excelled in all disciplines and worked diligently throughout his classes and his incredible performance earned him admission to Harvard University, one of the country’s top colleges and a training ground for innovators in science and business.
A rebellious yet relatively quiet student, he created a website called Facemash during his sophomore year – an instantly controversial website that encouraged students to rate each other based on appearance but was shut down because it seemed inappropriate.
Beginning of Facebook
Based on the buzz of his previous projects, three of his fellow students sought him out to work on an idea for a social networking site they called Harvard Connection. This site was designed to use information from Harvard’s student networks in order to create a dating site for the Harvard elite but Zuckerberg soon dropped out.
Zuckerberg and his friends created a site that allowed users to create their own profiles, upload photos, and communicate with other users. The group ran the site—first called The Facebook, out of a dorm room at Harvard and later Zuckerberg devoted all the time to Facebook and it was there.
The rise of Facebook
Eventually, Facebook grew into a public service that anyone could access, whether to network with friends and family, to play games, or to meet past colleagues. Of course, given the immense size of the website and its incredible popularity – Facebook now makes up a huge portion of overall web traffic.
Zuckerberg seemed to be going nowhere but up, however in 2006, the business mogul faced his first big hurdle. The creators of Harvard Connection claimed that Zuckerberg stole their idea, and insisted the software developer needed to pay for their business losses.
The Social Network
Based on Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg’s life, The film- The Social Network shows the life and Mark Zuckerberg and how he created Facebook. It also involves the controversial period and also shows the initial settlement.
I think a simple rule of business is, do the things that are easier first, and then you can actually make a lot of progress. By giving people the power to share, we’re making the world more transparent.
